Take a Guess!

When I was young I remember my sister and I use to collect Guess paper bags, that was our cheap thrill. In the 90's Guess was a big hit in the fashion scene and every time any of us gets a pair of Guess jeans, it was such a big deal.

Now more than jeans (because I really have difficulty finding a pair that fits well), I like Guess bags. This time, real ones not the paper bags we used to play with.

Wishing this was my closet

Back when I was in Melbourne, I couldn't believe how there are Guess shops at almost every corner. It was impossible for me not to grab one. Simply put, it reignited childhood memories and started a love for their bags. Casual, shiny, and girly.

I wonder what kids now think about Guess?

I wanted to grab some of these baby Guess items, marked down, tiny, and cute. Perfect for my little bundle of joy. I wished they had sizes for 0-3 mos.

Aside from clothes, bags, and jeans - the Guess Outlet store in Robinsons Starmills Pampanga also has the bling. Guess watches, accessories, and even wallets.

It's a Snake!

I have a zoo of brooches, my mom inspired me to collect them because I always see her pinning a sparkling one on herself before she goes to work. Really classy and ever since I tried to collect animal brooches.

Yesterday this hissed at me:

It's a snake! and how hard it is to find animal brooches specially snakes. Now this reptile can terrorize the other animals inside my zoo.

Brooches are usually pinned on blouses but I make them into a make-shift belt buckles :) I love too how each of these brooches have a story to tell, like the spider I bought from Degraves.

A Glimpse of Escolta Buffet at Manila Peninsula Hotel

These days, it's a miracle I think I am not gaining weight but it could also be the green tea I drink several times a day. And what better way to celebrate a freeze in weight gain than a buffet?

Escolta is one accessible buffet restaurant inside the Manila Peninsula Hotel. I heard the price per head is around Php 1,500 - I didn't know because someone else hosted the dinner when I experienced their food.

All the oysters found their way to my plate

I swam in a display of fresh seafood : oysters, shrimps, and mussels. The oysters were big and I just loved dipping them into Kikoman with wasabe. I thought I wouldn't enjoy the mussels but they were soft, juicy, and delectable as the oysters.

There's also the Japanese food area where sushi and sashimi are available. What I like best is the seaweed salad I've been searching for everywhere. The sashimi is sliced fresh in front of you and you can choose from tuna, salmon, and another type of fish I cannot remember.

My sushi and sashimi plate with seaweed salad

At Escolta, you can enjoy your favorite Caldereta with cheese and other viands like herbed veal, chicken barbecue, grilled vegetables, etc. They had a crisp salad bar which I didn't had the time to try but my companions seemed to enjoy their greens with a serving of soup which is also available in the buffet.

My seafood plate, I know I shouldn't eat like this! ugh goodbye diet

I was looking for rice to enjoy my seafood with but at Escolta, they only had two types of rice: seafood rice and steamed rice. Although, rice is no biggie when it comes to buffet, I always look for fried rice or yang chow fried rice.

I know they have more main dishes to offer but my plate is attracted to sushi and seafood like a magnet, so I apologize for having little info about the other food available. What I remember though is they also have a carving station for roasted meat.

One part of the dessert spread
, the other half are made up of cakes, cupcakes, and desserts in shot glasses

Now my favorite part, dessert dessert dessert! I rejoice that Escolta had lots of items to offer to people with a sweet tooth. Icecream that you can mix with candies and cookies to become an icecream teppanyaki, native delicacies like buchi, turon, and bibingka, at least 3 types of cake which includes New York Cheesecake and Chocolate Fudge.

My almost perfect dessert plate
which I enjoyed with a cup of green tea

Whatchathink? I think I'm gonna head out to Manila Peninsula next time with my mini family :) Not as plenty as other famous buffet spreads but the quality and choices are excellent! lab it.

At Robinsons Starmills Pampanga, outlets are everywhere like this shop American Rag which also houses items from Terranova!

I went there with Lavern who toured me around the mall.

With us is Jane of Betweenbites

Of all the items, my eyes feasted on these nice floral prints. They just look so easy and fresh :) Above a floral polo shirt, and below a flowery print on a pair of shorts.

Could you guess how much the polo shirt is?

From P 5,198 to just P 999.00, unbelievable!

The Black Pond's - Pure White Facial Foam with Activated Carbon Review

Tried and tested! I was very curious when I saw this Pond's TVC, right away I wanted to try it. Because I want something that can suck the gunk out of my face: -

I say that this product really sucks, as in suck the impurities off your face. Before trying the product I glanced at the mirror and noted how little blackheads where on my nose. After washing, my face looked brighter and the little devils on my nose have been sucked and destroyed by the activated carbon.

This is hardcore product testing!

Compared to other Pond's facial wash, I think this is the best to use after removing your make up with Pond's Cold Cream which I swear by. I get more pimples when I don't use their cold cream. Back to the Pure White Facial Foam, it feels that all make-up and grime are removed after one wash.

One thing I noticed though is that it doesn't help control the oil and sebum on my face. I regularly use Pond's Clear Solutions Facial Wash which really mattifies my oily skin very well. So I think I can use Clear Solutions in the morning and the Pure White Facial foam during the night. I asked someone from Pond's and he says it is perfectly safe to use and combine all of their products.

Me at the Pond's Institute (not really) trying the activated carbon for myself!

The Pond's Pure White Facial Foam is a winner because of the activated carbon technology. It is basically like charcoal that absorbs impurities but the ingredient used by Pond's is activated carbon which has more absorbing power than regular carbon as seen on a microscope.

You can try Pond's Pure White Facial Foam for yourself, it is available in different sizes and even in sachets. Let me know how you find it :)

Finding the Perfect Pair of Jeans

Jeans have been around for ages and it still is the favorite casual wear of men and women. Yet, it could take a really long time to find your perfect fit! Look at these uh-oh's when it comes to jeans, how frustrating x.x

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVAGhPvHwLIkwUiU950Uz_spd7Fp8pTaYCbDci5xPOzDzvcr_qbWZTjy5oRd_g_RJsKuHxqIMTACptBTrfEaminE5Wv6Vet60mrvmnLS-s5ExzoCF6IrDoIp6Y-tOhvyXY4jQ4TFa5z7I/s1600/no+perfect+jeans.jpg

I've already asked some friends which of these are their jeans, most had the muffin top and the gaper. Jeans could really make a sexy hot outfit when paired simply with a plain tee plus high heels but it could also be a major turn-off.

How about you? Which of the above have you experienced and any tips on finding the perfect pair?

Inside Mango Outlet at Robinsons Starmills Pampanga

What?! I was surprised too when I learned there's actually a Mango Outlet in the Philippines, aside from their normal retail stores. Of course an outlet means crazy discounts and MNG clothes made more affordable.

I've always loved their skirts and made them my inspiration when shopping (because right now I am saving and honestly, cannot afford MNG prices!). So when I saw these skirts at 50%-70% off, I just had to take a snap:-

Those colorful skirts on the right are just lovely! and at just Php 700

Aside from skirts, of course the Mango Outlet store inside Robinsons Starmills Pampanga carries the usual items like dresses, blouses, bags, shoes, and accessories.

Bag and shoe-wawa haven!

I tried several of these MNG sunnies but they are not yet discounted. An insider told me how these pairs were priced at Php 199 during the shop's first few days of operation. I wish that happens again!

Then this bolero made me remember my Mama Rachel Z. I deeply regret not getting this and the other piece behind it. Each were just at Php 800. I wish Santa gets it for me!

Stay tuned for more insider look inside Robinsons Starmills Pampanga where more outlet shops exists for shopaholics :) They are also having an All-Out Clearance Sale from August 1-31, drive to Pampanga now na!

Saizen Clearance Sale!

From Php 85 to 58 pesos! Don't you just love all the cool items in Saizen? And while you are shopping around their store look out for these items.

Saizen is located at Trinoma inside True Value and Robinsons Galleria. Speaking of True Value, I chanced upon them while shopping and they also have interesting and modern items for the home. I can't wait to come back to them but more on that soon ;)
