From Belt to Necklace

This is the same belt that I wore as a headband, it came with a soft cardigan and is made of the same cloth.



The buttons of this dress flew off inside the laundry machine in Melbourne, leaving it very plain. Yet, a pinch of creativity can always create a new look with something old (even damaged). Tied the belt into a ribbon and pinned a crown hair-clip (from the flea market) to the middle of the bow. Tada!

Style Scene: Greenwich Fast Casual Store opens in Robinsons Galleria

Greenwich fast-casual dining stores are opening just about anywhere and this week, a new Greenwich store opened at Robinson's Galleria. Greenwich endorser John Lloyd Cruz gets to be the first to slice the giant Greenwich Pizza.

The blessing of the new Greenwich store was packed with guests, media, celebrities, and throngs of John Lloyd fans. During the store opening, every guest enjoyed the best tasting lasagna of Greenwich, Overloaded pizzas, baked beef rice, and surprising new desserts. Greenwich now serves Brazo de Mercedes which was all the buzz during the event. Around 5 persons asked me if Greenwich serves them, yes they do! :)

John Lloyd on the other hand shares his mysterious favorite item in Greenwich and his new fitness regimen. Style and Relax tried to ask him about his style but surprisingly, John Lloyd says he puts comfort before fashion. When asked where he gets his clothes, he said "secret".

Today is Krispy Kreme's 72nd birthday! Our favorite doughnut celebrated its 6 dozen years of fulfilling sweet buds and tummies. The celebration kicked off this afternoon at Krispy Kreme Bonifacio High Street and was attended by KK fans from the blogosphere.

Michael Jackson is King of Style

Like how fashionistas do, all over the world - MJ loves black and white! Style and Relax reviews MJ's fashion and gets fashion inspiration from the late King of Pop. This will make you think if Michael Jackson started out all the trends we have now.



1. Black and White - crisp white shirt with a black jacket always does the job for Michael Jackson. Black and white is also the title of one of his best looking music videos. Surely, MJ knew how classic colors work it!



2. Fedora Hats - are always present for that mysterious Thriller look



3. The Military Jacket - hands down, it was Michael Jackson who donned them first.

4. Gloves - that are now being sold in Multiply like hotcakes! Gloves are great now for night outs, but no one will ever wear them like MJ.



But, the style I am dying to try is the least that people notice with MJ. Black shoes and white socks that peep through black pants. I like!

Style Scene: Cassie Davis at the Sony VAIO Village

Style and Relax was invited to come down to the Sony VAIO Village at the Bondi Junction in Sydney. Sad that I was not able to go since I am already here in Manila but our PR friends in Sydney sent us photos of one of the event highlights - Cassie Davis.



She is the talented musician behind the hit song Like it Loud and fans were able to meet her at the VAIO Village. Cassie Davis also teamed up with Supre, a leading clothing shop in Australia (and one of the must visits!) to design a limited tee encouraging people to live life loud.

If you are in Sydney, Australia, the Sony VAIO Village at the Bondi Junction is open everyday throughout July for you to experience the latest gadgets that Sony has to offer.

Mall Adventure: SM Taytay

Tired of the usual nearby malls in Manila, Style and Relax decided to hop in the ride and travel to SM Taytay. The mall is fairly new, it had two buildings which was connected by an airconditioned bridge way that reminds one of Startrek movies.



I was expecting a provincial looking mall but the layout is really impressive, there are coffee shops like Starbucks which offered al fresco dining and my favorite boutiques are also present. The climate in Taytay is cooler and not humid, the place offered an urban mall experience but in a more relaxed environment. Less cars, and less busy shoppers walking around.



Jayson, SM Taytay and Marikina's marketing maven toured me and my companion around the mall. He is planning lots of activities and events for the coming months which are all very exciting. SM Taytay has their own event center that can hold exhibits, conventions, parties, what have you.



Somehow, this branch of SM made me feel very relaxed and excited at the same time. There are new stores and restaurants that are bound to open and I can't wait to go back to have another adventure. Familiar shops and diners have also reinvented their look for a more stylish mall experience.

Must visit and try at SM Taytay:


Bake and Churn's Ice Cream Cake - they now have a dining area that will let you enjoy their sinful desserts right away!


Manoy Bicol - soon to open, we are excited to taste the spicy flavors of Bicol. I hope they will serve my favorite dish called Laing.


Dunkin Donuts - who will ever miss their colorful spot at SM Taytay? With these colorful umbrellas and bright array of donuts, you'll feel like a child again with your favorite pasalubong to receive.

Next stop is SM Marikina which I also haven't visited, we just can't have enough SM malls!

Printed Stockings

Here's another interesting piece to wear, printed stockings. Wear them with short dresses or even your favorite pair of shorts. Your legs just got more artsy! I got mine in Melbourne but I've seen billboards across EDSA with models wearing these.

Be careful in choosing the prints though, the lighter the color of the stockings is, the bigger it would make your legs look. Personally, darker is always better.

One Afternoon in Trilogy

Trilogy is the latest concept store that combines fashion, food, and technology. This week, I had the chance to drop by and meet one of the store owners, fashion stylist Rosario Herrera.

The first thing that caught my eye were the Adidas Originals by Originals items which I have been wanting to see in person, especially the winged Jeremy Scott rubber shoes. I don't know if it's just me but I see more and more people in the street wearing the brand. Even when I was in Australia, I did not get to see these items but they were here at Trilogy.




Within the store are stylish chairs waiting to be occupied by diners of the canteen. They serve gorgeous looking meals, desserts, and our everyday vitamin called coffee. We just had to try this crispy burger with fresh lettuce and tomatoes at Php 150. The burger is different in that it tastes like Tonkatsu complete with the crispy golden breading.



At Trilogy, you can either go in to fill in your fashion addiction and submerge yourself with their unique pieces from all over the world or, simply fill your stomach. The entire store is WiFi enabled so you can browse the net through your mobile like I did, or your old cranky laptop like my companion did.

Black + Bright

At 3PM it was sunny and hot, what better way to beat the sun but with a pop of brightness in my outfit. Bright colors reflect heat and black is a staple for anyone who wants to look thin-er.

Combining both looks like a burst of color :) It's also a good way of livening up a black dress, perfect for an afternoon with friends. Grab your little black dress and give it a try!
