Fashion: Lace is IN

Not me, but the fabric called Lace. I am guessing pointy shoulders are going on a vacation, especially military inspired ornaments like Vice Ganda is wearing. Now it's all about lace, finally!

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRjup5E3Y5mkdWmON_t6mnTT1SlzGRjBDawaCeWWcSvV7O-lHn4fy_y1u7ZGYqOI3-9OFF0jqlFB01nghyphenhyphenmK8WvtCXHn9QyWr4HfsAKNp8xU1wLJjH2EPjDHqm6_UWJraEC7um7uewPVQ/s1600/manila+fashion+blog.JPG

This I am wearing from New York something I found in SM Department Store. I pulled the tag, and paid it in the counter while I already wore the item to a dinner somewhere. The grey shirt looks oversized on the waist, the cut will remind you of 1980's aerobics - cool, and it had see-through lace on the sides. Since the lace is black, it gives the illusion of a smaller waist.

Shirt costs Php 600, the sequined bib necklace I am wearing is from Landmark, Php 180. Cheap fashion thrills. I had fun wearing it :)

Tried and Tested: Brazilian Wax @ The House of Glitz

This post has no before and after photo. House of Glitz, tucked inside Eastwood's Beauty and Fashion mall could just be the best, most pain-free waxing service out there for ladies who want to lay bare.

With a few friends, we tried their services and we were surprised they offered brazilian waxing. After all, The House of Glitz is known as a nail spa. Now we know they are more than that and they mean serious expert service.

One thing important in getting a Brazilian Wax (meaning no hair would be left untouched down under) is hygiene. Look how their honey-sugar wax are in little containers. No double dipping in one big pot of wax!

Just look at Jinky (my technician) who appears to be doing surgery with her outfit and tools. All sterilized in front of me.

The House of Glitz utilizes some sort of special paper that sticks towards the wax and makes it easy to pull without so much pain. Seriously, I almost fell as sleep as Jinky does her business. Although, the paper teared a couple of times and the technician had to pull shorter lengths of the pad which were a bit painful but tolerable.

The service lasted for around an hour but I was relaxed and felt safe all throughout. What I wish for though is for The House of Glitz to have their own toilet should clients wish to wash before having a wax. They actually had a feminine wash but no where to use it except for the mall's CR.

Proud owners Raymond and Kristine

Raymond, the store owner produced this Audrey Hepburn wall mosaic on his own.

However, I understand how The House of Glitz's space is a bit small but was creatively designed by one of the partners. Love Audrey Hepburn, she's all over the place. The owners have plans on transferring to a bigger space though *fingers crossed*.

You will be surprised at how affordable and practical their prices are. If I remember right, the brazilian wax costs around Php 380. After getting my lady parts done, I proceeded with an even more relaxing Foot Reflexology massage at just Php 300.

Drop by the House of Glitz, 3rd Floor, Eastwood Beauty and Fashion Mall beside Jollibee. Perfect for after bar hopping or before your big date at Eastwood! :)

Beauty: Phiten E-Water for Face

Last month I hoarded different products from the Phiten shop, one of which is the Phiten E-Water that is infused with Aqua Gold. It sells for aroung Php 1,000 if my memory serves me right.

The product is for both the body and face, it is a body and facial milk according to the box. Like most of the Phiten products, it provides balance and relaxation of tensed muscles. More than ever, I feel stress creeping under my skin and so I finally unwrapped my E-Water. Sounds so futuristic!

I applied this onto newly cleansed face (I am just using Pond's Clear Solutions), the Phiten E-Water had a light but lingering pleasant smell. The "milk"spreads easily on the skin surface, a bit like gel but also cream. I like it because I didn't have to rub it in and it was absorbed quickly with light massages and pats.

Like its name, it feels simply like water - not even moisturizer but it does moisturize the face. It was hot today but after I finish my application, my skin looked matte. And I felt my facial muscles relax, I did lots of frowning, smiling, and laughing this week! To be honest, I am not sure if it is just psychological but my skin looked brighter. However, after around 30 minutes my skin got oily again (I blame the weather) but still looked brighter than usual. The light fragrance still lingered for around 2-3 hours until I decided to splash water again on my face.

According to some, the Phiten E-Water has improved their skin with problems caused by hormonal imbalance. I feel like I have had hormonal imbalances for years, with being pregnant and now with breastfeeding. I asked Phiten if this was safe to use for me and they said yes.

I am going to seriously finish this bottle of e-water and get back to you again with the results :)

Fashion: Tiffany Keys Scarf

I feel so special when I receive gifts from Tiffany & Co. Actually, this is my first haha. I still have to wait for more surprises, I guess?

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzgeRhobHMuLPZEpc1liLTQ4H55n6yUq8oxIL_O23hkM0Ghwy0swvoB2KdfNY-xTfHD2m1eSkSOw0FOFl-BUNrycr5uNeWw_WROIW6Tgq0KGplnjCQ_SThFckWfKbLiVWXp7EyiL3yOjI/s1600/tiffany+scarf+on+lace.JPG

My sister and Aussie Mommy Blogger, Joni sent me this. Recently, we got our mom a Tiffany Keys bracelet. Now I have the Tiffany Keys scarf. I think she saw how I made an ordinary scarf into a headband.

I wore it with my new hair length and an essential piece in my closet - the grey dress. (I know I am getting fat! T_T)

Thank you sister! I think you've just sparked in me a new collection.

Beauty: Simple Eye Makeup with Revlon Grow Luscious

Here's a simple eye makeup routine that uses the simplest, no-brainer, eye makeup products from Revlon, Maybelline, and The Body Shop.

Without eye makeup

First, start with clean eyebrows by using an eyebrow blade/shaver. Around Php 60 for 3 sets of blades in beauty stores.

Next, I discovered how using a higlighter/concealer from The Body Shop beneath the eyebrows makes your eyes look even cleaner.

Line your brows lightly with Maybelline Eyebrow Pencil. Fuller eyebrows make you look years younger.

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjT3qRiDWbcJsNplYdXTDVFtMt-ut4v9BWCmgHTmf18qrBnVsZULh_mK0F08PcBy80RNVjBOh_CltPM558HeRUvdMmw3eBcPKHbCDvjlQtIZ7gmuZoI5ChdZaJwrq9-nkjHumXVknRXTac/s1600/body+shop+autumn+winter+makeup3.jpg

Now time to bring out The Body Shop Kajal Gel Eyeliner. I've learned to use it just on the top lids, then smudge the outer edge of your lids with your lady finger. Makes it look a bit smoky without too much fuss.

I lost my MAC eyelash curler but I grabbed a new Revlon Mascara which makes the eyelashes look longer. I like the big bristle brush which have been replaced nowadays with fancy shapes. The bigger the brush or wand, the easier for me to finish everything fast.

with Revlon Growluscious Mascara

Even without curling, the lashes look darker and fuller. Matches the kajal eyeliner gel well. Tada! Now you have eyes that are not too fancy and not too plain. Just simple like grey.

MOVIES: Eat, Pray, Love is easy as 1 2 3

Eating in Italy to find your life's purpose aint a bad idea, especially when you know how to wear it like Julia Roberts.

Two weeks ago I've seen Eat, Pray, Love at Columbia Picture's private cinema in Shangrila Mall. I didn't knew there was!

Here we are the lucky ones.

I am sure you've read more than enough reviews and reasons to watch the film. Simply put, it's an internal battle of man vs. himself. In this case, pretty woman vs. herself. Eat, Pray, Love is a timely film as divorce rates are creeping up and with the fast-paced modern life, people are finding themselves lost.

Eat_Pray_Love_Intl_DF-01036_r

Julia Roberts as usual, delivered her lines well. Although I think some scenes could have been made shorter, the film is about more than 2 hours long. There are about three points the film wants to convey, which I think people already know. One - the art of doing nothing, two - feeding yourself spiritually, third - betting on love.

The beauty of this film is how it gives the audience reassurance on these thoughts. Maybe in some parts, the film lets the audience reflect and find themselves in any of the characters. It feels good to know that everyone is a mixed bag, Julia Roberts included.

At first glance, Eat, Pray, Love poses as a deep thought provoking movie but personally, I found the movie an easy stride. Like a walk in the park, only I wished the walk was shorter.

Go watch it now, perfect with a box of doughnuts and half a pint of icecream.

Cosplayers busy working with Sony PSMove

Sony launched lots of 3D appliances and gadgets this week at the Republiq. Spotted cosplayers playing with the new PS Move. Sony's answer to Nintendo Wii?

And I wore Sony's latest accessory, the flashing 3D glasses which are battery operated. Highly amazed with their half a million 3D LED TV. I think it's worth it.

That day I learned that 3D cameras have been invented! and it's a Sony. The 3D digital camera could just kill DSLR's, I can't wait to see people stop wearing these heavy gadgets around their necks. What could be clearer and more realistic than 3D. Now only if 3D print media could be invented!

Dining: Morning in UCC Café Terrace at Resorts World

These days, I am rarely impressed. But one morning I took my breakfast inside Resorts World, at UCC Cafe. The silence of the place and the wonderful lighting was the best morning greeting
for me.

No caffeine-starved yuppies lining up. Relaxed, I called the waitress for the menu and ordered a cup of their houseblend brew, chocolate French toast, and a kani sandwich for my companion.

It was the best looking French toast I've ever seen, stylishly cut in squares so it fits a bite perfectly. The choco-half-dipped sticks reminded me of Pocky, and even the sticks were enjoyable to nibble on. Topped with whipped cream, dashed with powdered sugar, and drizzled with chocolare sauce. What a good morning it was.

My companion and I agreed on how their bread were fresh and crisp. Good quality of food aside from the impressive presentation and service. I wish they do not change.

Now I know where to go for a relaxing morning, away from all the buzz, and embraced with lots of sweetness kicked with caffeine. Everyone deserves a good morning :)

Style Scene: PLDT Watchpad's Gabay Guro Celebration

Happy Teacher's Day to all teachers, including my sister Liza. She was murmuring how she didn't feel her special day but I know some teachers did!

Teachers from Cavite at PLDT Watchpad's teacher's day celebration. The event was very moving and sincere. Not so many remembered Teacher's Day but at least PLDT did.

I've never seen teachers this happy, maybe because controversial Bella Padilla was there?

http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash2/hs350.ash2/63058_473018888614_739253614_6624851_6811143_n.jpg

Or is it Illumina star and PLDT Watchpad endorser Rhian Ramos? She always looks so tall :)

http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash2/hs092.ash2/37921_10150096988723332_737068331_7411090_2097635_n.jpg
Or could it be the wits of former teacher, now dabarkads- Ruby Rodriguez?

For me, it was comedian Kim and Dax who hosted the entire event.

The celebration was fun even for non-teachers like us - me, Jennie (who is homeschooling her son), Alex, and Iris.

Even my home town's governor was there, Strike Revilla but I forgot to get his photo. Angelica Panganiban and Derek Ramsay also dropped by but I got scared of Rubi (just kidding). There were also bands who played and some teachers also won GCs from SM Mall of Asia. What a nice treat for our heroes :)

Gabay Guro or 2G is a project of the PLDT-SMART Foundation that uplifts teachers through trainings, seminars, and livelihood programs among others. 2G also enables broadband services to public schools. For more info about 2G, visit www.gabayguro.com
