Technology: Tweet, FB, Play, and sometimes Work with Fujitsu MeeGo | Lifebook MH330

Who has heard of MeeGo? Not me because I am not a tech geek. But of course, during the launch of Fujitsu Meego I learnt it was an OS simular to Linux. Meego is open source which meant lower memory consumption unlike Windows 7.

I've experienced Linux based computing through my desperate Asus Eee PC and when I heard that Fujitsu's sleek chic Lifebook MH330 was running on Meego - I am a skeptic. It was love at first sight when I saw the Lifebook's bloody red exterior, all shiny with the Fujitsu logo bling. But my Linux past is coming to surface, all those coding and terminal access. Not to forget, hours of research just to try to install a new device. (Linux programmers, don't kill me - I am just a normal girl without programming know-how.)

Wish you were mine, Fujitsu Lifebook MH330

After all the explanations I just had to try Fujitsu's first MeeGo based netbook. It didn't take more than 10 seconds to boot up and all at once, the Myzone panel offered a quick snapshot of the user’s personal activity and shows instant updates about the happenings in the social media sphere. Popular social network tools, such as twitter and Facebook are readily accessible.

One more babaw (shallow) thing I like about it is it's photobooth and video app that is perfect for blogging and vlogging. You have to take note, the MeeGo netbook is not meant for fulltime computing as in doing actual work with it. To put it simply, it is a secondary computing device if you've got a laptop or a desktop first hand. MeeGo is in between your work computer and your mobile device :)

"The LifeBook MH330 Mini-Notebook is specially created to meet those users who are constantly on the move. By making this exceptionally slim and light, this Mini-Notebook makes it very easy to have a constant travelling companion. At its current size, thinness and weight, you won’t even know that it’s in your bag" - Mr. Edmund Lim, Product Manager, Fujitsu PC Asia Pacific

Asked about the retail price, Fujitsu is hoping for an SRP of not greater than Php 20,000 once it is released here in Manila.

Dear Santa, I want a red netbook! *wink*

Beauty: Hairy Issues - Wax in, Shave out!

If you're from the 80's you'd know that's from Karate Kid, but this post has nothing to do with martial arts. Today I am talking of below-the-belt hairy issues, why you should get a Brazilian wax, undergo a laser hair removal, and score a more lady-like pair of legs.

First and to be honest, do not shave any part of your body. Okay, armpits exempted. Shaving any part of your body would cause darkening. Have you ever tried shaving your bikini area? Then I am sure you found it difficult to deal with hair re-growth, with stiffer strands of hair sticking out of your undies. Not sexy!

In high school, shaving legs were all the rage and I am glad I didn't follow the lead. Do not shave your legs if you don't have to. Actually, never shave your legs unless you like to have chicken legs.

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMdlsMtqGoHCf7-R7QRbshVN-XAGUaiwenVhZrSS_oJG1axytMmpBmu6-NlsuVQ5nvIyIX-5pL_PWz3AqxmyRVumKnIT1GBso-zb-569XkOPxbRmAMwLuQajRsL3T7db_cG3J_pkbKhAon/s1600/Ornusa+Cadness+walks+the+runway.JPG

Model Ornusa Cadness 'strands out' with her hair-free legs at the Lay Bare launch.

If you are born hairy then opt for waxing treatments that effectively removes hair from the roots. Eyebrow (I just discovered this and got amazing results!), upper lip, under arm, bikini area, and legs - all these areas can be waxed rather than violently plucked, or shaved. Waxing gives you more hair-free moments without the aftershock of darker skin, stubs, and hair damage.

Some salons I've tried and highly recommend for waxing treatments are: House of Glitz (for bikini wax) and Nail-a-Holics (for eyebrow wax).

Another salon I have been wanting to try and have been hearing about is Lay Bare. My friends say that the biggest difference between Lay Bare and any previous traumatic experience you might have had with hair removal(the scalding wax and the quick rips on your skin) - Lay Bare has pioneered the use of cold wax jelly and an innovative patch-waxing technique.

Made from all-natural ingredients that suit extra-sensitive skin, Lay Bare’s cold wax jelly allegedly (because I haven't tried them yet) eliminates incidents of nicks, cuts or burns, and is a relatively comfortable procedure. Combined with Lay Bare’s patch-waxing technique, skin trauma is further reduced by removing a small section of hair at a time.

Fashion: Be Bikini Wise! Bikini Solutions for Summer Bikini Problems

This blog is full of summer and the only thing missing is an actual sun tan spot on my skin! I am sure we're all excited to hit the sand and inhale the ocean scenery. Though many of us dread the thought of wearing a swimsuit.

It could be that you are conservative or have forgotten to slim down, hence the tummy rolls and arm shingles. Skin problems also take the limelight every summer, like stretch marks, back acne, etc.

Before you get frustrated, inhale and know that there are several swimwear solutions to every problem I mentioned above!

Bikini solution #1 : Rashguard

photo
Sassa, Php 599.75 available in S-XL sizes

Wear this if you are conservative or want to hide imperfections. Most common are body acne, rashes, and even dark armpits. Embarrassing but these are real life scenarios which must be addressed! A rash guard will make you carefree and comfy to enjoy summer without any concern.

Perfect for moms swimming with their children too, avoid bikini malfunctions and peek-a-boos with this piece.

Bikini Solution #2: One Piece Swimsuit

photo
Sassa, P649.75 available in S-L sizes

The scenario: tummy stretchmarks and note that not only mothers get them! This design also gives you a sexier and slimmer silhouette.

Bikini Solution #3: Bright Colors

photo
Sassa, Php 599.75 available in S-XL sizes

If you find yourself every summer wearing dark colors in an attempt to look small, you MUST try brights this year. Not only will you pop on the beach but for sure, your summer photos will be worthy to be posted on your FB wall.

Bright swimwear with the right patterns will help you look more radiant and distract attention from areas of concern (read: giant thighs). It also looks a lot more fun which gives you the license to bask on the beach carefree!

Bikini Solution #4 - Mix and Match

Penshoppe, P499 each

In terms of size, rarely do our torso/bust match the size of our bums. Like me, my top would usually be M or L, but my bum would always score an XL. Thanks to Penshoppe, you can mix and match bikinis of any color and any size, saving you from splurging on a bikin that won't fit you right.

Thank me later! :)

Technology: Blueooth Makes HiSense in Fashion

Hand us anything that can make our lives easiER and we'd buy it! Nowadays everyone has their hands full, literally and figuratively. Most especially busy ladies who want to be 24 hour superwomen. I even think that busy is the latest accessory, don't you think?

photo

Ehud Shchori, Director of Hisense International Mobile Accessories Division shows off his cool devices

So here is something both fashion and functional to help you juggle appointments, running successive errands, and multi-tasking. Note: this will even help you make even more money and run an empire (think Kimora Lee Simmons, Paris Hilton - you get the drift).

photo

HB200S Slim Headset looks chic and is available in many colors.

Hisense, a global brand recognized for its multimedia and telco solutions has launched a new line of Bluetooth mobile accessories in Manila. It ranges from bluetooth headsets, stereo bluetooth headsets, and even solar powered hands-free car kits.

photo

Model wearing the HB420S Sport. Sweat proof and light weight, this is my Bluetooth Hisense wish!

Right now I am taking advantage of my HB200M Mini Headset (in black) which lets me connect with two different mobile phones. It can also be connected to the notebook yet I have to upgrade and buy a laptop which actually has bluetooth capabilities.

Total cost is Php 1,900 ++ but comes with different sizes of ear plugs, a lanyard, and a magnetic clip for easy access to your device. I've only been using it for a week and so far, I have no problems connecting it with my N95.

photo

For online slaves like I am, I would recommend the HB440H Hi-Fi stereo which can allow you to take calls, listen to music, enjoy video streaming, and all that. Why didn't I even get this one? I'm guessing it is a bit more pricey than the mini and I won't go out wearing this to take calls during client meetings.

Now you know there is a different type of Hisense Bluetooth device (or call it accessory if you like) for every time and place :)

Fashion: For Work and Play

In the new world I've created, most tasks are done online or via phone. Hence I seldom have to dress up unless I have to be physically present like last week. I can't hide how excited I am to let myself out of my home office (still work-related though), I even bought a new red dress - for luck.

What do you think? Salamat doc for giving me back my pre-pregnancy armpits, I've rediscovered no sleeves. Dress from Folded & Hung.

I visited Penshoppe in Megamall too, they've lots of new items for summer like this hat.

And these classic flats. I got a pink pair for just Php 500 +. They remind me of my Steve Madden shoes, only Penshoppe's are a lot more affordable! I got too excited though and after an hour walking, I realized the size I got were smaller than my feet.

Now if only the human body does not require sleep, I'd be the happiest person on earth! More time please :)

Fashion: Fearless Forecast on What Dresses to Buy Right Now

Our metro lifestyle keeps us moving from one place to the next without time to spare for an outfit change. A simple shirt and a pair of trusty jeans is great for the weekend, but I've seen women in distress simply because they weren't' dressed' to the occasion, and usually what is required is a literally a 'dress'. It could be for an impromptu meeting with the bosses, clients, or a cocktail event you forgot about.

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjq37oQAiwQrZ_qbT-_S-GBDB7-2l2uLcrIZ-AhMPDoFj-cPSOX9znyKdrhnpBu5Ccsdyv0y_dteUQ1JgkbSNUjHrnQFWyyMexTyvv92VMWm8r0thbhJ4MNiBPwEfLylSqh9uBJTRx4BBUc/s1600/2011+manila+fashion+forecast2.jpg
Bottega Veneta from resort wear 2011

My personal solution to this is find a middle ground type of dress that can pass as both casual and formal piece of clothing. I seldom encounter bookings that need a strict formal attire, rather, most occasions nowadays appreciate semi-formal or cocktail wear.

Right this moment I am observing sleeveless knee-length dresses with subtle folded overlays, tulle trim, or ruffles. Compared to the previous year's ruffles and oversized big bang, the keyword this 2011 is 'subtlety' (in my opinion). 2010 was inspired very well by big details, Lady Gaga fashion that it is no longer exceptional.

Calvin Klein from spring 2011

I am starting to think that beige is the silent colour of the year, a far contrast from the previous black mega trend. Though my advice is to add color to your closet this year, check out the above photo of the Calvin Klein dress in red. Yummy!

Slender arms are still in and so is thin. So continue reading on a fitness blog to get a dose of fashion and weight loss. They are twins. I must work on my diet and so should you. No excuses or no fashionable dresses ;)

Some stores where you can find dresses like these on the local scene: Penshoppe, Folded and Hung, Plains & Prints, or try both SM and Robinsons Department Stores - surely you will find your IT dress from them all.

Summer excites me and I am sure you're looking forward to your ultimate vacation. Add to that fashion possibilities of skin baring swimsuits and bikinis.
