Young aspiring fashion stylists and enthusiasts gathered yesterday at SoFA's Fashion Styling and Make-Up workshop held at the Powerplant Mall. Retail Lab was turned into a mini-classroom that every stylista can dream of. Imagine attending a class inside a shop filled with Filipino designers' clothes with fabulous interiors and full body mirrors.
Amina Aranaz and Antonio Garcia; Earth and Bryan
Bryan of School of Fashion and Arts welcomed us and Ms. Amina Aranaz-Alunan (SoFA founder and designer of Aranaz bags) was also present in the workshop.
The workshop was split into two, the first being Fashion Styling facilitated by designer Antonio Jean Garcia. According to him, fashion styling is all about attitude and vision. He shared how fashion stylists start as slaves to becoming masters in their own right, just like in the TV series Stylista.

I volunteered to participate in an activity where one can use all the clothes in Retail Lab to dress the dummies. I had to manifest Cate Blanchett without telling the audience. Here's my wardrobe for Cate.
According to Antonio Garcia, fashion stylists have a wide choice of careers, yet ego has no place in fashion styling but hard work has.
After an hour of fashion and style, Aan Pineda showed everyone the right way to create flawless make-up. The theme for the make-up session was Midsummer Night's Dream as 2009 would be a very colorful year in terms of make-up. Aan Pineda gave so many make-up tips which I'll tell you about soon! :)
Everyone had a great educational and fabulous time at the SoFA workshop. Thank you very much to the School of Fashion and Arts for giving time and resources for fashion and style enthusiasts. Visit their website www.sofamanila.com
